The Lotus Exige line incorporated this week a new and interesting version. The Hethel staff wanted to offer an extreme alternative to the Lotus Exige Cup 430 and the result is the new Lotus Exige Sport 410, a high-performance version, but geared to its use on the road. For its elaboration the Cup 430 was taken as starting point. The British mark defines it as the model of production ‘ultimate’.Despite being described as the definitive version of Lotus Exige, it should be made clear that this is not a special farewell edition, as the next generation Lotus sports car is still a long way off. As noted by the British brand, to create the Lotus Exige Sport 410 was taken as the basis of the Lotus Exige Cup 430. But while the latter is geared for a track use, the new model is focused on an audience that seeks to enjoy that car in the daily use.Taking the chassis, suspension and powertrain of the Exige Cup 430, the new Sport 410 model has a weight of 1,054 kilos in the dry, which translates into a reduction of 2 kilos compared to Cup 430. The weight / power ratio is 381 cv / 1,000 kg. On the other hand, its specially designed body kit allows it to develop a 150 kg aerodynamic load.If you take a look inside the Lotus Exige Sport 410 you will notice a refined and sporty environment. The steering wheel is lined in Alcantara, sports seats made of carbon fiber, as well as different upholstery in premium leather. The equipment is quite basic and even the air conditioning is offered on an optional basis. It is also important to note that the sports car uses adjustable Nitron shock absorbers. As for the mechanical part of the Lotus Exige Sport 410, under its body is a 3.5-liter V6 engine aspirated and revised to develop a power of 416 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque, which comes coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel drive system. Thanks to this mechanics it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km / h. On the other hand, and not least, it should be noted that average consumption stands at 5.1 km / l and CO2 emissions at 240 g / km.The new Lotus Exige Sport 410 will be available in both the coupe and roadster versions and features a redesigned front design, which can also be found in the Sport 350 version. It is already on sale in the UK and its price departure is 85,600 pounds (409,000 reais).

Lighter than its previous version and with improvements in aerodynamics, Lotus introduced the new Elise Cup 250. In fact, 14 pounds lighter than its previous version, driving the balance at 884 kilos, thanks to the materials used in its manufacture, such as carbon fiber, titanium and aluminum. In addition, this new version includes sports seats in carbon fiber, alloy wheels, rear view mirror made of polycarbonate and a new battery of lithium-ion.All of these components help with the low weight of the Lotus Elise Cup 250, but you can also count on an optional package with interior and body components made of carbon fiber that will bring the weight down even more, up to 860 kg. An even more sporty titanium exhaust system and brake discs can help to further reduce weight. The changes in the design that appear in the new Elise Cup 250 are reflected in a new front with larger air intakes and a rear where only two lanterns stand out, which appear with a simple and conservative design. In addition, it features a new styling airfoil and a new rear diffuser, which will allow this new Lotus to produce up to 125 pounds of downforce at a speed of 225 km / h.The Elise Cup 250 uses a supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 246 horsepower and a torque of 250 Nm. All of this power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 247 km / h.The price of the new Lotus Elise Cup 250 in Europe is 54,000 euros. Recalling that in the market for light sports cars there are very few alternatives, one being the Alfa Romeo 4C, which costs much more expensive, around 80,000 euros.
2017 – LOTUS ELISE CUP 260

Lotus is one of the brands that is most exploring the lode of the special editions. And as we have already commented, the brand of Hethel is recovering economically from the bad situation that has lived during the last years thanks to this type of product, which offers a plus of exclusivity. Continuing with this path that has produced such good results, the British manufacturer introduced its latest creation, the Lotus Elise Cup 260.Described by Lotus as ‘the definitive version’ of Elise, we are facing an edition of which only 30 copies will be manufactured. It is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 254 hp and 265 Nm of maximum torque, arising coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. Thanks to this mechanics, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 243 km / h.It is possible to emphasize that the vehicle marks in the scale a weight of 895 kilos. Average fuel consumption is 13.3 km / l and CO2 emissions are 175 g / km. It was based on the Lotus Elise Race 250 base . Visually it differs from that model thanks to an exterior and an interior with several specific finishes. Features the Union Jack flag, a laurel wreath and a gold-colored ‘Gold Championship’ body.Aerodynamics is another of the most relevant features of the Lotus Elise Cup 260. It has been meticulously crafted to generate a load of up to 180 pounds. In relation to the Elise Cup 250 , this is an increase of 44%. Many of the components of the body were made of carbon fiber so as not to influence excess weight of the vehicle. As usual with Lotus, any element that may be lighter and stronger will be subject to change. In relation to the interior, there are carbon fiber benches upholstered in black Alcantara with seams available in red or yellow colors. Some trims feature a carbon fiber and aluminum finish, as well as the instrument panel. Optionally it is possible to count on a steering wheel lined in Alcantara and leather. The infotainment system with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity as well as audio equipment is also an option.Regarding the price, the new Lotus Elise Cup 260 is already on sale in the UK for a starting price of 59,500 pounds, around 250,000 reais at the current exchange rate. Most brands summarize their upgrades to improvements in equipment or front design, for example, although this is not the case with Lotus. The British brand has just updated the Elise, with the arrival of the ‘Sprint’ version, which stands out by a reduction of 41 pounds in its weight. The new Lotus Elise Sprint breaks the 800 kg barrier, weighing only 798 kg. In addition, it debuts specific aluminum wheels and numerous elements in carbon fiber, as well as the upholstery in Alcantara. But the rest of the Elise line also benefits from a weight reduction of 10 kilos thanks to the use of new materials. In terms of exterior design, it debuts larger air intakes, new grille with hive design and a rear that has been redesigned with the addition of new taillights with only two lights. A new aerodynamic package is also underway, which includes improvements on the wheels to improve airflow.Numerous elements have been added in the interior in carbon fiber, debuting a transmission with ‘open-gate’ system, which allows to observe the operation of the mechanism from the passenger compartment. The new Lotus Elise Sprint uses a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine that develops a power output of 134 hp and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. In addition, it also offers a supercharged 1.8-liter engine with 217 hp of power and a maximum torque of 250 Nm.The new Lotus Elise Sprint along with the upgrade of the entire Elise line will be available from the brand’s dealerships from next April, although for now the British brand only announced the prices for the UK, where the Elise Sprint will be marketed from £ 37,300 (£ 144,000).

Lotus unveiled the Evora Sport 410, a new top-of-the-line version that comes to replace the Evora 400, introduced just over a year ago. The new model is characterized by having 10 hp more, now reaching 416 hp at 7,000 rpm and 410 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm from the 3.6 V6 Supercharged engine. In addition, it has been the target of a diet of 70 kg (totaling now 1,325 kg), thanks to the introduction of several components in carbon fiber, as standard, specifically the trunk lid and the doors. Thanks to this, the Evora Sport 410 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 300 km / h in the version equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. The new model can be 3 seconds faster than its predecessor, reaching 1 minute and 28 seconds on the track of the British brand. The engineers of the Hethel brand also regulated suspension geometry and damping, having lowered the height by 5 mm. The Evora Sport 410 features 19-inch forged aluminum wheels at the front and 20-inch behind, optionally with Michelin Cup 2 tires.Limited to 150 units per year, the new model, which will be presented from March 1 at the Geneva Motor Show, will go on sale from June.

Last November, the Lotus Exige Sport 380, one of the fastest models of the British brand, was presented. But now the Hethel people wanted to go a step further and so they introduced the Lotus Exige Race 380, another version of the sporty, but in this case only fit for the circuit. The Exige Race 380 is even faster than its brother, the Sport 380. Being able to do without some elements, managed to stay under a ton of weight. Specifically, there are 998 kg in the vacuum and this number can be reduced by another 10 kg if the option is by the exhaust system of titanium. So it did not take the engine changes to make it faster. It follows using the same 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine of Toyota origin. The power is maintained at 380 hp and 410 Nm as in the Exige Sport 380. The transmission is different, as the Race 380 equips a six-speed sequential, more suitable for circuit use. It also benefits from a self-locking differential and a well-engineered aerodynamics that makes the car generate 240 kg of aerodynamic load at 273 km / h.It will arrive with other elements such as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, AP Racing signed brakes and specific racing instrumentation. These aspects allow you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and a time of 1 minute and 23.5 seconds on the Hethel track, being 1.5 seconds faster than the Exige Cup R. The price of Lotus Requires Race 380 is 99,500 pounds – about 390,000 reais at today’s exchange.
